Festive opening of Boost Local

Monday, September 8 was the grand opening of our new location, Boost Local! And what a success it was!

During the opening, everyone was welcome to discover the location using a bingo card. What a cool mix of people: entrepreneurs and their friends and family, curious local residents and committed partners. They were able to enjoy a delicious piece of cake from our neighbors at 't Hoekje. There was a lot of laughter and it was nice to see so many visitors enthusiastic about the opening itself, but also about the concept of the location. We all combine functions and people really liked that: meeting each other, developing yourself and doing business together.

The location will be a valuable part of the Delft Boost Lab program through which we accelerate meeting and entrepreneurship in Delft-West. At 5:15 p.m., we paused together to celebrate the opening. Kristel Thieme, founder at New Future Lab, explained how each shelf in the store represents its own story and dream.

Our alderman Maaike Zwart was also there. She shared with all the visitors that she was extremely impressed by all the talent in town and immediately bought some beautiful products in the store! Finally, entrepreneurs Marenthe Kifeta of MDEM Artistics and Naigel Lang of Blind Wellness told about their business and why they are connected here: "together we form a close community!"

We are super proud of all the entrepreneurs, creators, partners and team members who helped transform this venue into a shining location in just 2 months. And we loved seeing so many familiar and new faces. Together we make the city!

What is Boost Local?

Boost Lokaal is a shared store in Shopping Center De Hoven: a mix of concept store, meeting place and workspace. Local makers and start-ups can sell their products or offer services there.

‍Yourproduct or service in the spotlight?

Do you have a beautiful product you make, such as clothing, jewelry, bags, art or something else? Or would you like to open a practice 1 day or part day a week, as a stepping stone to a place of your own? Then this new place might be for you.

You can think of it as sharing the store with a larger group of entrepreneurs. This way, everyone does not have to rent a store separately and can build their business step-by-step. This is the chance to try out whether your product or service really sells - right in the middle of a busy mall!

‍‍Do you want to sell your stuff in Boost Local?

You can rent a shelf in our store to sell your stuff! How does that work?

• A board is 30x80 cm, in consultation another medium can be used (for example, a card box or a clothes rack)
• The rent for people from Delft is € 90 per 3 months
• Rent for vendors affiliated with New Future Lab is €60 per 3 months
• The rent for participants of Delft Boost Lab is € 0 per 3 months
• If your rent is € 0,- we ask you to work one shift a month in the store. If your rent is € 60,- or € 90,- we like it when you occasionally work a shift in the store.
