In a remote corner of Delft's Voorhof Oost neighborhood, the J.P. Thijsseschool (J.P.T.) was founded in 1968. It was a service assignment for Leo Romijn. The area was then still barren; no Kruithuisweg, viaduct, pumping station, railway station and also no Tanthof district. Yet the J.P.T. soon grew into a large public elementary school that attracted visitors from home and abroad. Delegations, from Belgian nuns to Japanese guests, came to see how innovative education was put into practice here.

Last Thursday was all about connection and conviviality. Together with the Delftsch Studenten Corps (DSC), New Future Lab organized the event Never too old for a party - a day especially for older people from Delft. It became a day full of warmth, humor and special encounters.

On Monday, April 14, we opened the doors of the Station House. From now on you can enjoy the conviviality, good food and drinks and inspiring encounters. Discover the flex work spaces, the community barn, the café and the outdoor space. Come and visit us!

A new gem has opened in Delft's Cable District: Kickstart Lab. This innovative hub gives young entrepreneurs a flying start, lifting the city's entrepreneurial climate to a higher level. It is an initiative of New Future Lab in cooperation with local educational parties and the Municipality of Delft.

Learning about your smartphone and tablet is getting easier and more fun. At least, that's the promise of startup DigiHandig, which is launching a brand new app today. The app is available for free for every smartphone and tablet starting today. People can install the app themselves, but the DigiHandig team is also explicitly calling on family members and volunteers to help someone close to them install it. "With five minutes of your time, you give someone the gift of the digital world," says Kristel Thieme, instigator of DigiHandig.

A key exchange with residents, a bar full of fragrant soups made by neighbors and a shared sense of pride: the Stationshuis in Delft-West was officially opened. This new meeting place, located right next to Delft Campus station in the Voorhof neighborhood, is much more than a building - it is a lively breeding ground where entrepreneurs, local residents and circular initiatives meet.

On Sept. 8, New Future Lab will open a shared store in De Hoven: a mix of concept store, meeting place and workspace. Local makers and start-ups can sell their products or offer services there. Participation is free and you get help starting your business.

Kickstart Lab, based in Delft's dynamic Cable District, has reached an important milestone by receiving a grant worth 457,380 euros from the Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag (MRDH). This financial contribution will enable the organization to strengthen its mission - to support young entrepreneurs and students and thereby improve the connection between education and the labor market - over the next three years.

New Future Lab, Stichting Stunt and 015 Duurzaam opened a special neighborhood café in Delft on Wednesday, July 24: the WIJcafé at 222 Papsouwselaan. An affordable and cozy place to meet.
